So there's going to be a new label - ASL - and posts that have info on signs we are learning or any new resources we've found that are useful. Also in other news, apparently there is a toddler signing class at the community center in housing - so we're signed up! Seriously I feel like I have been looking for the last couple months and now I realize there are a couple (though the school district one will have to wait until August) close to home. I'm excited to see what the toddler class will offer - hopefully it will be a great experience for all 4 of us (Mike will most likely be at work since it's mid-morning). At the very least if it a class that happens on a regular basis we'll have some practice.
So the website that I have found helpful is Lifeprint, this is one that I found in a few searches and is also a recommended link on Hands and Voices. The link should take you to their page that has a list of 100 basic signs. I may have pictures added at some point too - though the site does a good job - but I don't want to import their pictures (not sure that would be acceptable) I may have Noah help me and we can post those. He's actually really getting the hang of some of them. Addison gets excited for the signs, and she knows a couple that she uses too but seems to understand more than she is using right now (isn't that true for language in a toddler though?). Noah's learned to sign his name, Addy's name, and Josh's name.
Now for a list of the signs that we've learned so far...(in case you want to learn with us)
