Noah's update

It is hard to say just what has been going on with Noah - there's so much and yet not a whole lot all at the same time.  We did take  him out of preschool, it was just not beneficial other than the getting to play with other kids.  We got numerous reassurances from the teacher that he was doing great and had fun playing each day, which of course we never doubted.  However, it wasn't benefiting him otherwise, he wasn't being challenged with letters or fine motor skills and we were losing much of the time we had for school stuff at home.  We have finally gotten back on a regular routine with school, but then of course had some sickness in the house and it was hard to find a set routine again.  The struggle seems constant, a fine balancing act between doing academic things with him and still having adventures and exploring outside the house.  I think we are managing just fine though and he continues to learn.  Right now we do about an hour or two of "table school work" a day at least 4 times a week.  Add in the hour or two of playing and exploring with Josh or with other kids at the Y or church during MOPS and it's pretty well rounded I think.
Noah is in Cubbies still and really is enjoying it.  He looks forward to working on his book each week and saying his verses.  It is pretty amazing just how many of them he remembers week to week.  I love that he is learning them so young and having so much fun doing it.  He also is sure that each night we choose our people from the bucket to pray for.  (We have a bucket that has popsicle sticks with heads on them, on each side is a picture of a friend or family and their name is written on the stick part).
Speech is also going well, something that will continue for awhile but hopefully he will catch up in a year or so and not need regular speech sessions.  If he does, that will of course be fine but he seems to be progressing well and we hope won't need them too much longer.  His other great joy during the week is soccer!  He's having a ball playing and loves to go to practice and his games.  He does a great job on the field and also sitting on the side lines cheering for his team.
