Addison's First EEG

I kind of wish I could title the post "Addison's First & Last EEG" but we have no way of knowing if she'll need more.  Honestly, the whole process was relatively painless for everyone, except for an hour or so before we left this afternoon when Addy was hungry and tired and couldn't eat or sleep.  Mike took the boys and got lunch out before dropping them off to hourly care.  Then when he got back we gave Addy her sedation medicine and loaded up in the van to head to her neurologist's office.  Once we arrived it was only an hour.  I asked if I could take pictures and was given the go ahead, the room was dark to help keep Addy asleep and I didn't want to use flash for fear of waking her up - so they aren't the best color wise; but I am glad we have them.  If she ever needs another one, we'll be able to show her and the boys were curious as to what Addy did while they got to play - so I showed them and explained.  Noah said he thought they must have tickled Addy.  Right before the tech began, Mike asked if "we knew what we were looking for" to which she replied that she did but couldn't tell us anything; then assured us if there was anything she saw that needed immediate attention she would make sure that the neurologist saw us before we left.  That was about it...it took just under an hour and Addy seemed quite peaceful the whole time.
the sedation medicine, we knew she was thirsty when she sucked this down, she's not a "good medicine taker" like the boys were

Lack of sleep and sedation medicine is doing the trick, Addy was sound asleep and resting comfy on Daddy

Just getting started with the leads.  There were 27 total on her head.  She at first was a bit jerky while they were going on, normally when she sleeps she sleeps on her stomach.  Once her blanket was over her, she seemed less jerky.

The tech was so gentle while she placed all the leads.  She moved Addy's hair out of the way, then scrubbed the sight, then applied the lead with some "glue type" stuff.

all done getting leads on her head...she's wired up!

All those leads were hooked up to this box that was connected to the computer, then we got to "watch" Addy's brain

She had 20 minutes of sleeping and monitoring and then a few minutes of being monitored while they used the strobe light.  Then we woke her up, monitored her a couple minutes awake, took the leads off and scheduled her follow up (not until March 2nd!) and were done.  Good job Addy!
