This morning Addison had her MRI and CT images done. The appointment was suppose to be at 8:10 but the anesthesiologist had been called in so it ended up being a much later start. Addy was a trooper while waiting though, she walked around the waiting area, moved magazines from one table to the another, turned on and off my phone, played peek-a-boo and worked on charming all the people waiting. They tried to get the CT scan done before she was sedated...I told them I didn't think that would work, guess what it didn't work she was to wiggly. It was finally time for the sedation. This was Mike's first experience having to hold one of the kids for blood work or iv's. This is not a fun experience, I didn't like having to just stand and watch. Poor Mike, the anesthesiologist had to try twice, and it wasn't just two quick pokes, it was a poke and then trying the medicine and moving the needle around and then repeat. Addison becomes the hulk, seriously as soon as you get near her with an IV she becomes the hulk. Mike looked like he wanted to punch the poor anesthesiologist...he just kept looking down and trying to not look at the doctor or the nurse. Later I told him, and he said that he just wanted the guy to be done, he knew that it wasn't easy to do and that the anesthesiologist was doing his best but he also knew that his face probably didn't look nice so he was just trying not to look at anyone. It's just not a fun experience. They asked if she had a seizure disorder - we aren't quite sure how to answer that question. We aren't sure how to answer that question right now...we haven't heard about her EEG, she does stare off sometimes, she isn't walking into things as much now but does sometimes. I guess the order had something about seizures and there was an extra part of the MRI they do if there are seizures, so they just went ahead and did that part too. After they had her IV in and had Addison sleeping, we had to go wait in the waiting area. So we waited for about 30 - 45 minutes until they came to get us and tell us they were done. We went back and waited with her until she woke up. It wasn't too big of a deal, well except that our baby needed detailed images of her brain and head and to check for calcification of her brain...yeah other than that it wasn't a big deal. We picked up the boys at the CDC and got us all some lunch before heading home for naps. Unfortunately I'm still not 100% and it wore me out, but thankfully everyone got a nap. Mike is working nights this week and next, which is a HUGE help, but I of course worry about his sleep (or lack of sleep) and sanity. Thanks for all the prayers, her follow up with the neurologist is next week and then we may have a few more answers.
